Nikah Ceremony Service

Family life is the foundation of a successful society, and marriage is an occasion of great joy in the Muslim community. Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said:
“We have not seen anything better than marriage for those who are in love”.
(Ibn Majah, 1847)
Dowry (Mahr)
An essential element of the Nikah (Islamic marriage contract) is the agreement for the man to provide the woman with a dowry, known as Mahr. This is not a mere gift but a mandatory obligation in Islamic law, signifying the man's commitment and responsibility in the marriage. The dowry can take the form of money, property, or any possession of monetary value and is exclusively the right of the woman.
The agreed-upon amount is determined by mutual consent between the couple and their families, considering fairness and the individual's circumstances. The dowry may be provided at the time of the Nikah ceremony or deferred to a later date, as stipulated in the contract. Regardless of the timing, it remains the woman’s sole property, ensuring her financial independence and security.
This sacred obligation underscores the value and respect Islam places on the rights and dignity of women within the framework of marriage. It serves as a symbol of the groom's commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities and honouring his wife.
