Tajweed Class

At CIL Tajweed, we place great emphasis on building a strong foundation in Qur’anic recitation, beginning with the study of the Qaida. This essential first stage is designed to develop correct Arabic pronunciation by focusing on the Makharij—the precise articulation points of each letter—which form the cornerstone of proper Tilaawah (recitation of the Qur’an).

To ensure consistency and effectiveness in our teaching, we have adopted the Qaidah Baghdadiyah, a time-tested method renowned for its structured and progressive approach. Through this system, students gradually build the skills needed to accurately recognize, pronounce, and connect Arabic letters.

The Qaida phase serves as the entry point into the world of Qur’anic reading. It introduces learners to the Arabic alphabet, teaches how each letter is formed and pronounced, and trains them in joining letters into syllables and words with fluency and clarity.

By the completion of the Qaida phase, students will have developed a solid grasp of Arabic letter recognition, pronunciation, and basic joining techniques. They will also have begun to apply foundational Tajweed rules naturally in their recitation, even without studying the theory in depth. This prepares them to transition confidently into reading the Qur’an, equipped with the essential skills to recite accurately, fluently, and in accordance with proper pronunciation.
